Block parties are usually a fun opportunity to meet your neighbors but if you're living a non-traditional lifestyle like the stars of Sister Wives, you might be worried about being accepted.
On Sunday's episode of TLC's reality show (9 p.m. ET), the Brown family will come face to face with a neighbor and her family.
"When I first heard that they were moving into the neighborhood what I had to say was less than gracious," a woman named Edna says in a clip of the episode. "My daughter, she says, 'But Mom, they're grown people that made a conscious decision to live the lifestyle they did and we shouldn't be judging them just like they shouldn't be judging us."
First impressions aside, Kody Brown's fourth wife Robyn and Edna seemed to bond over motherly responsibilities.
"Edna told me from the very beginning, 'If I'm yelling at your kids it's because I want them to be safe and they're in the street. Everybody around here calls me Grandma,'" Robyn, who is expecting a baby with Kody, says. "I was like, 'Awesome. You tell my kids where they're supposed to be, that's cool. Keep them out of the street.'"
Janelle, Kody's second wife, seems to appreciate meeting new people. "I have many friends from different walks of life and different faiths," she says. "I completely embrace them for the things that make them human, not for their beliefs."
And Kody's take on meeting the neighbors? "I want our neighbors to feel safe with us, too," he says. "We're just looking for tolerance and friendship."
