Kim Kardashian claimd she didn't know she'd be featured on the Turkish edition of Cosmopolitan.

Being on the cover of Cosmopolitan is a dream come true for many celebrities, but the latest issue of the Turkish edition has left Kim Kardashian rather upset.

"When I did this shoot for the international covers I had no idea that Turkey was planning to run my story on their cover THIS month, considering Genocide Remembrance Day is this month," she wrote on her blog Monday.

"My Armenian heritage means a lot to me and I've been brought up to be incredibly proud of my family's background and culture," she added, "so as an Armenian-American woman it is a huge honor for me to be on the first ever Armenian Cosmopolitan cover."

But Turkey's issue is a different story, considering the country has never fully acknowledged the Armenian genocide that killed millions during the early 20th century, and Cosmopolitan never consulted the 30-year-old about using her image for that particular edition.

Aram Hamparian, the executive director of the Armenian National Committee of America, told TMZ.com the magazine was "trying to turn a profit in Turkey by callously featuring a cover photo of a descendant of Armenian genocide survivors in its April issue."

Instead, he argued, "Cosmopolitan should find creative ways to educate its readers about the Turkish government's shameful effort to cover up this atrocity."

"It's disrespectful to Kim Kardashian and to all Armenians for the publishers of Cosmopolitan to use her image, without her permission, on the month we mark Turkey's genocide against the Armenian people," Hamparian said.

But Kardashian noted on her blog that she has "an amazing relationship" with the magazine, and, according to TMZ, she already has another photo shoot lined up.

"I really hope that if I can bring awareness to the issue," she wrote on her blog, "then this is an accomplishment."
