Actress Kirstie Alley's publicist has played down reports the star is set to lose her Florida home due to an outstanding tax bill, insisting she never knew about the overdue amount.
The former Cheers star reportedly missed the 31 March deadline to hand over $41,000 (£25,625), owed on her mansion in Clearwater, to tax officials in Pinellas County, prompting her home to be listed as a "delinquent real estate tax" property.
But her publicist insists the missed payment is just an oversight, telling the Associated Press, "We were not aware of the amount owed, and her accountant never received the bill."
A spokesperson for the tax office has confirmed that Alley's rep has promised to send over a cheque for payment.
Alley bought the five bedroom, four bathroom home from Lisa Marie Presley in 2008 for $1.73 million (£1.06 million).
