Ashton Kutcher On Joining 'Men': 'I Am Surrounded By The Best'

NEW YORK, N.Y. -- Ashton Kutcher is ready to work hard on his new job on CBS' "Two and a Half Men."

The actor appeared at the CBS Upfronts in New York City on Wednesday with co-stars Jon Cryer and Angus T. Jones, where Ashton compared his new job to winning the lottery.

"In my 13 years of showbusiness, I have never received more calls and E-mails for getting this job," Ashton told the crowd, saying he had nabbed the best job in the business.

"I always thought you surround yourself with the best and work your [expletive] off," the former "Punk'd" star continued. "And I am surrounded by the best and I will work my [expletive] off!"

Jon, who stars as Alan Harper on the show, told the crowed he was happy to have Ashton join the cast, but admitted he's worried about the former "That 70's Show" star's impressive height.

Jon, who is 5' 9" to Ashton's 6' 2.5", joked that they should consider renaming the hit CBS series "One and Two Half Men."

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, CBS and Warner Bros. announced the actor would be joining the series last week, with production beginning this summer.

"I can't wait to get to work with this ridiculously talented 2.5 team and I believe we can fill the stage with laughter that will echo in viewers' homes," Ashton said in a statement released to Access Hollywood at the time by CBS. "I can't replace Charlie Sheen but I'm going to work my ass off to entertain the hell out of people!"

Chris Matthews on Sarah Palin: What a Moron!

With his recent comment that Sarah Palin is profoundly stupid - his words - Chris Matthews is not showing any indications of dialing back his fiery rhetoric.

The host of MSNBC's Hardball took a shot at the ex-Alaska Governor Tuesday while discussing the presidential prospects of another Republican woman.

While talking about Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann’s shot at the 2012 GOP nod, Matthews was told by a guest analyst not to count out Sarah Palin.

He found that idea laughable, to say the least.

A Chris Matthews PicYup, There's a Pulse

“I think Sarah Palin proved herself to be - I think she’s proven herself to be profoundly stupid,” Matthews said to applause on-location in Los Angeles.

“Her inability to answers the questions of Katie Couric, her inability of even now to explain if she ever reads anything... her absolute failure to begin studying and get serious about running for president,” he continued.

“She has shown no effort to doing any homework or understanding issues about the economy or science or the world. No effort and she’s running for president? I don’t believe she would be at all helpful to our republic.”

Well that leaves clears up where Chris stands. We're not even gonna touch this.

An Imagined Conversation With This Sulky Model

Me: Hey now, what?s the matter?

Model: Nothing. It?s nothing.

Me: Oh come on, you can tell me.

Model: Well, it?s just ...I feel like a fraud.

Me: Why?

Model: See these pants I?m wearing?

Me: The skintight high-waisted bright yellow jeans? Of course. They look amazing on you, by the way.

Model: That?s just it. They look amazing on me, but they would look horrifically bad on anybody else. Horrific!

Me: Hmm ... this is true.

Model: And here I am advertising them to the world as a viable clothing option! I?m a fraud.

Me: Awww, cheer up. You wanna know what I think about skintight high-waisted bright yellow jeans?

Model: What?

Me: I think if you can pull them off, then it?s your responsibility to wear them with pride! For example, I look good in gigantic furry hats, so I try to wear them as often as possible.

Model: Is that why you?re wearing one now, even though it?s mid-May?

Me: Yep. Gotta practice what I preach, even if it makes my head really sweaty.

Model: I feel better now.

Mildred Baena identified as mother of Arnold's love child: reports

Arnold Schwarzenegger accepts an award in Los Angeles earlier this month.

LOS ANGELES - The mother of Arnold Schwarzenegger's mystery love child was identified late Tuesday as 50-year-old housekeeper Mildred "Patty" Baena.

Multiple outlets including TMZ.com and Radaronline.com identified the woman citing anonymous sources.

Baena described herself as a "proud parent" with a body type that included "some extra baggage" in a MySpace.com profile that included photos of her with a young boy.

The boy bears more than a passing resemblance to the "Terminator" actor, with an eerily similar gap-toothed grin and flowing sandy blond curls like Schwarzenegger's "Conan" character.

Baena, who bought a new four-bedroom house with a pool about two hours north of Los Angeles last year, filed for divorce from her husband in February 2008, court records show.

The longtime employee struck up a sexual relationship with Schwarzenegger in the late 1990s and didn't tell the actor he was the father until the boy was a toddler, TMZ reported.

"This is a painful and heartbreaking time," Maria Shriver said in a brief statement issued after Schwarzenegger admitted siring a child out of wedlock.

"As a mother, my concern is for the children," she said. "I ask for compassion, respect and privacy as my children and I try to rebuild our lives and heal."

Two of the couple's four children took to Twitter.

"This is definitely not easy but I appreciate your love and support as i begin to heal and move forward in life. I will always love my family," wrote eldest child Kristina Schwarzenegger, 21.

Her brother Patrick then quoted music lyrics saying "some days you feel like s--t, some days you want to quit and just be normal for a bit."

Schwarzenegger revealed the bombshell betrayal in a statement made first to the Los Angeles Times.

"After leaving the governor's office I told my wife about this event, which occurred over a decade ago," he said. "I understand and deserve the feelings of anger and disappointment among my friends and family. There are no excuses and I take full responsibility for the hurt I have caused. I have apologized to Maria, my children and my family. I am truly sorry."

According to the Times, the woman retired from the family's household staff in January on good terms with a severance package.

"I don't think Maria suspected it. This was obviously a trusted person in her life, someone who stuck around for a decade after this event," Kennedy expert Laurence Leamer, author of the Schwarzenegger biography "Fantastic," told the Daily News.

"What's appalling is that Arnold apparently did this in the house. It's really a double betrayal for Maria. It's just creepy," he said.

The former Mr. Universe, now trying to stage a Hollywood comeback, battled accusations of sexual misconduct during his initial run for the California governor's office, and his crude sexual advances have been an open secret in Hollywood for decades.

Shriver, 55, stood by Schwarzenegger and vouched for his integrity, all but sealing his election victory.

After admission of his infidelity, a 2003 story in the London Daily Mail that claimed Schwarzenegger fathered a son with his personal flight attendant Tammy Tousignant quickly resurfaced.

"It's not his child," a legal source close to the Tousignant family told the News.

The source confirmed "scientific tests" disproved Schwarzenegger's paternity years ago.

Shriver moved out of the family's Brentwood mansion weeks ago and reportedly met with a financial advisor to prepare for a possible divorce filing, TMZ reported.

LAPD failing on retaliation claims

REPORT: Officials say complaints need to be dealt with more quickly.

The Los Angeles Police Department fails to properly investigate claims of internal retaliation against officers, according to a report released Tuesday that led officials to acknowledge changes were needed to avoid costly lawsuits against the department.

The Internal Affairs Group often did not investigate claims by officers that they faced retaliation from superiors - such as being passed over for promotions - if they had filed complaints against the department or fellow officers, according to the Police Commission's Inspector General's Office.

"Retaliation and other workplace complaints are some of the most complex investigations confronting the department," inspector general Nicole Bershon wrote in the report. "However, we believe that, given the severity of retaliation allegations, and the fact that the incidents surrounding these complaints often result in litigation against the department, it is essential that these investigations are thorough and comprehensive."

LAPD also removed the accused employees from the investigation by framing the complaints against the department as a whole, making it difficult to determine if the employee had been the subject of complaints before, according to Bershon.

LAPD policy protects employees if they report or file lawsuits alleging misconduct such as sexual harassment, discrimination or unfair labor. The policy also prohibits retaliatory behavior against those employees such as refusing or

intentionally delaying help, ostracizing those participating in an investigation, or spreading rumors.

Officials promised a restructuring of IA's investigating unit, saying that a lieutenant and additional investigators would be added to handle complaints.

As LAPD struggles with budget and staffing shortages, one investigator now handles as many as 10 cases at a time, according to one official.

Calling for a "culture change," officials said the complaints need to be resolved at the outset to clamp down on a high number of lawsuits against LAPD by its employees alleging retaliation and other workplace misconduct issues.

"These things fester and create huge, huge problems for something that could have been handled very soon," said Cmdr. Rick Webb, who heads the Internal Affairs Group. "We have a lot of room for improvement."

The department is expected to report back to the Police Commission on changes it has made in several weeks.

"We recognize the need," said Chief Charlie Beck. "It brings forth a lot of things that I think needed to be changed for a while."
