january-jones-baby-bump.jpg

Looks like she doesn't have a care in the world. Obviously, she is unfazed by Zach Galifinanakis' attack on her yesterday!

First things first- that baby bump is a'growing fast! Mom-to-be January Jones took herself shopping yesterday, keeping herself active and busy while she nurses the little tyke inside her tummy whose father is still TBA.

We know someone who is definitely after the potentials list - Zach! Woo, did he lay some heat onto her in the Shortlist interview, huh? Allow us to explain!

While out promoting The Hangover 2, a reporter told Zach January had named him one of the funniest people in the biz. Taken aback by the compliment, he began to recount the pair's first and only meeting at a party not too long ago. He explained:

"That?s really funny because, if I remember correctly, she and I were very rude to each other. It was crazy. I was at a party ? I?d never met her ? and she was like, 'Come sit down.' So I sit at her table and talk for 10 minutes, and she goes, 'I think it?s time for you to leave now.' So I say, 'January, you are (Read more...)

The stars of The Real Housewives of New York City get plenty of exercise shopping, pointing fingers, flipping their hair and catfighting. But sometimes, they've got to do a little bit more to really feel the burn.

Out promoting NBCUniversal's Healthy Step-a-Thon in Times Square, Kelly Bensimon, Jill Zarin, Ramona Singer, Alex McCord, Cindy Barshop and Countess LuAnn de Lesseps opened up about the workout and diet routines they follow to maintain their?love 'em or hate 'em?toned and slim selves.

"I do work out a lot compared to some people," LuAnn says, describing her Pilates-tennis-crosstraining routine.

And whether it's Ramona's attempt to work out in heels, Jill promoting her new line of shapewear or Cindy showing off her Jimmy Choo sneakers and emphasizing the importance of spray tans (instead of real ones) and drinking lots of water, all of the regimens sound about right for the Housewife in question.

"If I walk home, that'll be the best exercise ever, but I'll probably take a car service," laughed Jill.

"It's definitely bikini time, so it's not just about being fit, it's about looking hot," Kelly admitted.

It was a gathering of great significance as President Barackand First Lady Michelle Obama met up with Prince William and Kate Middleton in London today (May 24).

The newly-crowned Duke & Duchess of Cambridge recently returned home from their honeymoon in the Seychelles and they were happy to entertain the high-profile Americans at Buckingham Palace.

When Barack and Michelle got to the Palace, they were greeted by Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Phillip and took a tour of the beautiful property.

From there, the Obamas were given a rare 41-gun salute by Scots Guards in red jackets who also performed a rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner.

Barack and Michelle will be staying for two nights in a luxurious six-room suite- the same one William and Kate stayed in on their wedding night.

10 People We Wouldn?t Know Without Oprah Winfrey

Filed under:

From the CNN:

For 25 years, Oprah Winfrey has had a plethora of people on her show for makeovers, intense interviews, surprise visits and encouraging stories. We have gotten to know and love ? or hate ? quite a few guests over the years.

But there are some who have reached celebrity status due to Oprah?s influence. Here are 10 people we wouldn?t have met if the queen of talk shows hadn?t introduced audiences to them:

1. ?Dr. Phil? McGraw and Dr. Mehmet Oz

Both became regular staples on ?The Oprah Winfrey Show? and currently have their own television shows produced by Harpo Studios.

McGraw and Oprah met in 1995. She hired his consulting firm for her ?mad cow? Amarillo, Texas, beef trial. She enjoyed him so much that she asked him to become a recurring guest speaker on the show in 1998, giving advice as the ?Relationship and Life Strategy Expert.? Four years later, he had his own show and had become a household name.

Oz became Oprah?s resident M.D. for the show in 2004, where he would talk about a wide array of topics, from diabetes to masturbation to Botox. Since gaining immense popularity, he has spoken on ?Good Morning America,? the ?Today? show and ?Larry King Live? ? just to name a few. In addition to Harpo Studios? ?The Dr. Oz Show,? he hosts a daily radio show on Oprah Radio.

She?s definitely her own person, and Elle Fanning told Teen Vogue that she?s not too concerned with public opinion.

The ?Somewhere? actress explained, "I don't worry about what other people think about my clothes?I want to be me. And that's just a little weird."

Further emphasizing her point, Elle continued, "I think it's a compliment when people give me strange looks or say that I dress 'uniquely.'"

As for where she gets her inspiration, Fanning confessed, "During fashion week I go online to watch all the shows, and then I organize and save pictures of my favorites in folders on my desktop. What can I say? I'm a total fashion nerd."

Taking prisoners could burden L.A. County

JAILS: Sheriff Lee Baca says more money, staff needed to take inmates from state facilities.

In this undated file photo released by the California Department of Corrections, inmates sit in crowded conditions at California State Prison, Los Angeles. The Supreme Court on Monday, May 23, 2011, endorsed a court order requiring California to cut its prison population by tens of thousands of inmates to improve health care for those who remain behind bars. The court said in a 5-4 decision that the reduction is "required by the Constitution" to correct longstanding violations of inmates' rights. The order mandates a prison population of no more than 110,000 inmates, still far above the system's designed capacity.

P

lans to reduce California's state prison population, as ordered by the U.S. Supreme Court on Monday, are likely to result in more prisoners being transferred to Los Angeles County jails, local officials said, but the county may not have the money to house them.

The county already has the physical space for thousands of additional prisoners - but not the budget or staff to watch them, according to a spokesman for Sheriff Lee Baca.

Under Gov. Jerry Brown's pending realignment plan, which shifts more state responsibilities to counties, Los Angeles was already planning to accept more nonviolent, non-sex offenders, according to Sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore.

"(Baca's) reaction is that this can be done, this has to be done, and it can be done, if funding is connected to Governor Brown's realignment plan," Whitmore said. "If there's no funding, then there's no beds available - it's pretty simple."

Whitmore said the department is still reeling from a $128 million budget cut in the current fiscal year, and cannot take on state prisoners without a significant boost in funding. "Because of our own budget cuts, (Baca) has had to close many, many sections of our jails and reduce the inmate population significantly," Whitmore said. "We have 5,000 beds, perhaps, that go unfilled because

there's no staffing, there's no money, to fill them."

An April 29 report from the department showed "budgetary and staffing curtailments" have forced the closure of 4,607 jail beds since January 2010, and prompted the early release of county inmates.

Typically, they are freed after serving as little as 20 percent of their sentences.

Supervisor Michael Antonovich is adamantly opposed to allowing state prisoners to use those jail beds, saying state leaders should come up with other ideas to get rid of their budget deficit and fulfill the Supreme Court ruling.

"Their fiscal mismanagement shouldn't have to burden every county, city and school district in the state," he said.

Antonovich's justice deputy, Anna Pembedjian, said state prisoners should not be allowed to crowd out county inmates.

"The bottom line is this: we have a finite number of jail beds," she said. "To say that we have available jail beds that we can commit to the state means that those jail beds will never be available to us (the county) in the future."

Whitmore said Baca is hopeful the Supreme Court ruling will not reverse the downward trend in the crime rate.

"We're at historic lows right now, so there isn't a terrible concern about a spike in crime; however, it is certainly always a consideration and a focus," Whitmore said.

Currently, county jails hold an estimated 14,000 inmates, down from a high of 22,000 a few years ago.

The facilities are Pitchess Detention Center, in Castaic; Men's Central Jail and Twin Towers, both downtown; and the Century Regional Detention Center in Lynwood.

The Mira Loma Detention Center is a county jail, but is used as a federal lockup.
