Domenicali urges team to stay calm

Ferrari boss Stefano Domenicali has warned his team against getting too excited by Fernando Alonso's important victory in the Korean Grand Prix - as he urges it to maintain its focus for the final two races of the season. Alonso's triumph in the rain-hit Korean race has moved him to the head of the title standings with only the Brazilian and Abu Dhabi Grands Prix to go. But, despite the 11-point advantage Alonso holds over his rivals, Domenicali is adamant that Ferrari cannot feel as though the championship is within its grasp.

While a vocal gaggle of Birkenstock-wearing tree-huggers might be rambling on about how we need to replace the internal combustion engine overnight with EVs, we know that phasing out the automobile as we know them just isn't that simple.

Among the myriad stars you need to align in order for the electric car to enter the mainstream are such safety concerns as how emergency first responders will deal with electric vehicles in the event of an accident. High-voltage electric systems just don't behave the same in an accident as do combustible fuels. And the more EVs there are on the road, the more accidents involving them are bound to happen.

In order to address that eventuality, Chevrolet has taken its Volt around to training sessions for first responders to learn how to deal with the car's power systems in the event of an emergency, including how to disable the battery, how to sever the high-voltage cables and how to get an occupant out of a wrecked EV in an emergency. Chevrolet's being among the first, they've taken the initiative to get this EV safety ball rolling, but the lessons learned by paramedics, firefighters and the like will inevitably help as more EVs hit the road. Follow the jump to watch the video.

Horner: Both drivers still in title race

Red Bull Racing boss Christian Horner has declared it is still too early for the team to throw its full weight behind Mark Webber in the title chase and will continue to give Sebastian Vettel an equal shot at becoming world champion. After both Red Bulls retired in Korea - Webber following a crash and Vettel with an engine failure while leading - the duo now trail new points leader Fernando Alonso by 11 and 25 points respectively with two rounds to go. That situation had led to suggestions that Red Bull would have to ask Vettel to act as Webber's number two in Brazil and Abu Dhabi to give the Australian the best possible chance of overhauling Alonso, and Horner acknowledged after the race in Korea that the possibility of giving Webber priority was "something that we will look at pretty closely between now and Brazil." But he has now decided that with this season having featured so many ups and downs already, it would not be correct to rule out Vettel's title chances and make him support Webber, despite the German's points deficit
