David Arquette is still having a tough time dealing with the end of his marriage to Courteney Cox. The actor, 39, joined pal Howard Stern on his radio show (again) on Wednesday and admitted that he's not handling the split well at all.
"Are you having a nervous breakdown?" Stern asked his friend.
"I believe so," Arquette answered.
The actor told the shock jock that "everybody is worried and concerned" about him and that he's seeing a psychiatrist weekly. He also said that he's dealing with the pain of the breakup by partying and drinking -- and that maybe he's going a little overboard.
At a recent party thrown by Adam Sandler, Arquette says he got so drunk that he mistakenly called Tom Cruise "Sean."
"I was a little wasted," Arquette said. "Someone says 'Hi David!', and I said, 'Hi Sean! Then I realized it was Tom Cruise. And his beautiful wife (Katie Holmes) was there."
Cruise took the mistake in stride, Arquette said, but the incident was enough to put a damper on the night for the actor.
"Tom was cool about it...I was so embarrassed," he said. "I was like 'I gotta get the f*** out of here.'...I've been drinking a lot because I'm heartbroken. It's really a personal, traumatic thing."
But the dad says he's putting an end to the intoxication, since having a "semi religious" epiphany. "When I drink, I become a maniac," he admits. "When you wake up and reality hits you, it's hard.
After his split from Cox was first announced, Arquette said one of the main reasons the couple wasn't together anymore was because the Cougar Town actress, 46, "didn't want to be my mother. But I kind of need a mother." And, he says, "I want love in my life. I need love in my life."
He also talked about wanting to have more children and says he's thought about hitting up ex-girlfriend Drew Barrymore for the challenge.
"I know she is with Justin Long and everything, but how cool would an Arquette-Barrymore child be?" he said. "From a pure breeding standpoint."

"Rock of Ages," the Broadway musical that feels sort of like a karaoke night filled with '80s rock ballads, is headed for the big screen. Some insanely huge names are attached to the fledgling movie: Tom Cruise, Gwyneth Paltrow, Alec Baldwin, and Mary J. Blige are all rumored to be in talks for roles. When I first read this news, I was concerned that they'd make Tom and Gwyneth the leads, which wouldn't make any sense because the story is about two fresh-out-of-school kids who move to L.A. to become rock stars and end up working in a seedy bar. But, phew, they are being talked to about supporting roles.
