Britney Spears remained relatively low-key in 2010. She was too busy recording her new album, a follow-up to 2008's Circus, to do much more than make an appearance on an episode of "Glee" dedicated to her.
As 2010 comes to a close, and Spears blows out another candle on her birthday cake — she turns 29 on Thursday (December 2) — fans are readying to hear some new jams from the pop princess.
In November, Spears' manager, Adam Leber, revealed that she would be recording a track with "... Baby One More Time" mastermind Max Martin, as well as fellow superproducer Dr. Luke, calling the tune a likely "smash." He also shared that the album would sound "progressive" and that ''it'll be a departure from what you've heard" in the past.
In mid-November, she tweeted about the Martin/Luke track, writing, "Just finished recording a monster with @TheDoctorLuke and #MaxMartin. Get ready..."
And Dr. Luke, while not specifying that he's referring to Britney, in a not-so-subtle hint tweeted last week, "Time to get this song out the door and out to mix.. I think you know what artist i'm talking Bout... Right???"
While not much has been confirmed about the album or when it might be released, several producers have talked about working on songs for the singer. "We can start one way and end up a totally different way. I really don't know," Danja said earlier this year. "I'm definitely gonna do my part and try to make it hard-hitting, up-tempo, high-energy. That's what I think we need, and that's what I'm gonna shoot for."

In a statement Saturday, band confirm rumors that they have parted ways with Josh and Zac Farro.

On Saturday (December 18), Paramore announced that brothers Josh and Zac Farro were leaving the band, confirming rumors that had begun swirling earlier in the week.
In a blog post on the band's official site Paramore wrote that the Farros had actually decided to leave the group "a couple of months ago," and that, while fans might be shocked by the news, the remaining three members — frontwoman Hayley Williams, bassist Jeremy Davis and guitarist Taylor York — weren't.
"None of us were really shocked. For the last year it hasn't seemed as if they wanted to be around anymore," the statement read in part. "We want Josh and Zac to do something that makes them happy and if that isn't here with us, then we support them finding happiness elsewhere."
The Farro brothers — guitarist Josh and drummer Zac — founded Paramore with Williams and Davis in 2004 (York was made an official member of the band around the release of 2009's Brand New Eyes album), and though the group has lost two of its core members, they pledged to continue on ... with a South American tour scheduled for February and, as York told MTV News earlier this month, a new album.
"We never for a second thought about leaving any of this behind. We really hope that you can be encouraged by the fact that the three of us who are still here are ready to take on another chapter of our journey together," the statement read. "You have always been what keeps us going so why would we stop now? We want to stick by you. Knowing that we have a unified passion and a clear vision makes us feel stronger than ever."
Earlier this week, a blog post announcing the Farros departure began making the rounds. And though it was credited to the band, in their statement on Saturday, Paramore denounced it as "a fake."
"The 'blog' that was posted regarding everything that is going on with our band ...we aren't sure who did it or why... And we aren't sure how they timed it this way," their statement read. "This is the first time that we have spoken out about what's going on and we wouldn't have released an official statement that important through a personal blog. So, we're sorry for any confusion and just to remain clear, this is the first time we have spoken out about this."
Paramore concluded by thanking their fans for standing by them, and promised that 2011 will be a big year for the band. Farro brothers, or not.
"We have some amazing things lined up for next year starting with our tour in South America. We are still coming to you and we are excited about who we are bringing with us! The tour is still on and we can't wait to see you all," they wrote. "As we look back, and now as we look with excitement to the future, in all of this what truly matters are the good times. The pictures of us with our arms around each other, the long van rides, your faces while you sing along as we play. Thank you for getting us right here to this very moment. We look forward to our best times. And we hope you will go there with us."

Showing up to promote their upcoming movie, Emily Blunt and Jack Black were busy on the red carpet at Grauman's Chinese Theater for the Hollywood premiere of "Gulliver's Travels" on Saturday afternoon (December 18).
With the "Kung Fu Panda" actor joined by his lovely wife, Black offered up a range of humorous poses before joining up with Miss Blunt and fellow co-star Jason Segel ahead of the Tinseltown screening.
Talking about the Jonathan Swift book-based movie, Black recently spoke with press of deciding to use the newly popular 3D medium, saying, "You know, somewhere around the time that Avatar came out and made $2 billion, the idea was floated to us [laughs]. And, you know, it made a lot of sense for our movie because the fantasy/adventure genre is just a good fit, especially with the big, epic scenes with, you know, the Blefuscian Armada and the cannonballs. And just looking at a giant in 3D is cool."
Also starring Amanda Peet and Billy Connolly, the Rob Letterman directed family film "Gulliver's Travels" is slated to hit theaters nationwide on Christmas Day, December 25th.

"I've heard so many things, going back to 'Top Gun' and 'Rain Man' and 'Born on the Fourth of July' - 'He's not going to make another movie', 'He's just a teen idol', 'It's going to destroy his career'. People are going to say whatever they're going to say. I've read it and seen it all before. That's just the way it is. What are you going to do?"All I can think about is making the movie at hand and doing the best I can and enjoying it."That's a great attitude, though I'm ignoring the critics is easier said than done.Tom also mentions that Knight and Day was a particularly challenging movie to work on.
"It requires a tremendous amount of skill. You have comedy, drama and action and it's very dynamic so it's actually four times the workload. Action movies are difficult and this has everything I love in movies. We did everything we could to make it non-stop, unpredictable fun."I wonder if critics will end up praising Tom for Knight and Day. What do you think, will his acting chops show through in this one? ??She??s asked Reg to move in with her and he??s agreed. He has met all the family and is a hit.?Friends say she Reg is a "calming influence" which is exactly what Amy needs.
??It??s been an incredible past few weeks for Amy. She has completely turned her life around. It has been a long time coming ?? and she??s been writing songs for what seems an eternity ?? but finally Amy is satisfied and believes she has an album worthy of a four-year wait.???It is very raw and very personal ?? it promises to be another classic. She is now narrowing down the material and hopes it??ll be on shelves by the New Year.?I hope it's true that Amy has turned her life around - but we've heard "friends" saying this for years and it never ever sticks. Hopefully promoting this new album and having a steady relationship will keep her grounded long enough to deal with these demons head on. Outside forces are only bandages to her problems. Amy needs to figure this all out before it's too late.Photos by INF Continue reading

Toya Carter threw her man and rumored fiance' Memphitz a surprise b-day party to celebrate him turning 34 in Atlanta last night. The two shared kisses and hugs all night while partying with their friends. See Toya, Lil' Scrappy and Diamond, and others celebrating inside...
The party was held at club Halo in Atlanta.

And the birthday boy was surrounded by all his friends like Vivica Fox's man Slimm and Diamond.

And swilling Patron.

And getting his smoke on. *DEAD* at homeboy tearing that wing up in the background.

Rasheeda was there.

I see Scrappy and Diamond made sure they were on hand for the free drinks.

Really?

Party planner Toya rocked a simple black dress and posed with friends.

And they all snapped a group shot. Looks like it was fun.
