Rihanna, Kim Kardashian and Katy Perry also shined this year.

What four ladies and one dude had everyone buzzing about their fashion choices in 2010? Well, this year, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Katy Perry, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West kept us guessing about what they would wear on a daily basis.
From red carpets to high-profile Hollywood events, these five had us trying to copy some of their hottest looks. Here are some of their fashion highlights from the past 12 months:
Lady Gaga
Listen, Lady Gaga isn't scared to try anything when it comes to fashion. She takes risks, breaks all the rules and makes a whole new set of her own. She's Lady Gaga — need we say anything more?
Standout Moments: It's easy to say the "meat dress," but we have a few others as well. The Armani Prive orbital dress she wore to the Grammys was out of this world, the Alexander McQueen VMA red-carpet dress showed she was a Renaissance woman, and her black Armani VMA dress was also stunning. Finally, the black-sequin bodysuit she wore to the "We Are Plastic Ono Band" tribute was truly Gaga hippie-chic.
Rihanna
With one change of her hair, Rihanna became red-hot and set the trend for everyone to embrace fiery-red locks. Her fierce sense of style combined street edge with girly frills. Not many can pull off a tutu the way Rihanna does, but she works it with confidence and a big smile.
Standout Moments: Her ethereal white EMA Marchesa gown was show-stopping, her Madonna-esque VMA performance tutu and belly-baring tank top was truly Rih, her super-short patterned shirt dress she wore to the Kids' Choice Awards was hip, and that lacy red gown she wore to the AMAs embraced her siren side.
Katy Perry
"California Gurls" may wear daisy dukes and bikinis on top, but this particular California girl wears lots of latex and sequins, not that we hear any of the guys complaining. The singer proved that in 2010, she wasn't just a certifiable pop star, but also a full-fledged fashionista.
Standout Moments: She glowed at the Met Costume Gala; the sparkly, nude-colored mini she wore to the MTV Movie Awards had us doing double takes; her peacock-colored, sequined one-piece at the Kids' Choice Awards was very Vegas; and her Zac Posen, gold flower-petal-emblazoned gown she wore to the Grammys definitely referenced her time in India.
Kim Kardashian
It's not easy wearing bandage dresses and Grecian-style gowns, but reality TV's starlet du jour, Kim K, does it with ease and sass and manages to pull off each look rather, dare we say, seamlessly.
Standout Moments: Strutting her stuff like Liz Taylor or J.Lo at the CFDA Awards in her pale-blue, jewel-encrusted gown; keeping it short and sweet at a Beyoncé event in November; looking femme-fatale glam at the FiFi Awards in her strapless, body-hugging black dress; and looking white-hot at the Emmy Awards in her Grecian gown complete with golden detailing on her neckline.
Kanye West
There aren't many guys who are able to stand up in the fashion ring alongside the ladies, but Kanye West isn't just any guy. He's a guy who can wear a grill, a giant chain and a red suit all at once and somehow make it look sophisticated and not gaudy. On his Twitter page, he always shows love to high-end designers like Lanvin and has us salivating over his taste in couture.
Standout Moments: His VMA performance suit was red-hot and a reference to the similar outfit he wore to the BET Awards earlier that was equally eye-catching. His suits from the "Runaway" film were so well-tailored, and the plaid blazer he wore to the "We Are the World" recording session was gaudy and purely Yeezy.

'It's just a result of her constantly evolving,' Tina Knowles says of the fashion in Beyonce's "I Am ... World Tour" DVD concert special.

Beyoncé has never been shy about hitting the stage in stunning costumes. Her appearance has always been a mixture of showgirl sparkle and pop star razzle-dazzle. And her style is on full display in her new DVD concert special, "I Am ... World Tour."
Her mom and stylist, Tina Knowles, said that while the looks may seem a bit edgier than what fans have seen from the singer in the past, she thinks that her superstar daughter has always been ahead of the style curve.
"Well, the wonderful Thierry Mugler designed the costumes, and I actually worked on some of the dancers and the band, and it was just amazing to work with him because he is so creative," Knowles told MTV News at a New York screening of the special. "So it's just a result of her constantly evolving, but she's been edgy. It's funny for people to say she went more edgy, but she's been wearing body suits and that type of thing."
And while Knowles may act as her daughter's stylist and costume designer, she says that Bey's style decisions are all her own. "Well, we discussed her working with Thierry Mugler, and I'm the biggest fan. And so she had seen some of the fashions and she loved it," she said. "So we always discuss things, but it's her decision, it's her career."
Beyoncé, who also directed the concert special , said it gave her a better understanding of the filmmaking process. "It was hard work," she said. "I learned so much. I have a new respect for directors and I think I would like to do more of it. ... Well, I've done some co-directing for music videos [but] this was definitely a big step for me, and I'm so thrilled."

'I just hope that one day, when I decide to be pregnant that people are happy for me,' superstar jokes about year-round bump-watch.
By Jocelyn Vena
In 2010 alone, Beyoncé was pregnant at least twice, if you believe the rumors.
While the singer shot down the talk both times, she says that at this point she's pretty much to used to people speculating about potential baby bumps. "I mean, it's a part of it. At this point they said I've been pregnant like eight times, so I'm kind of used to it," Beyoncé told MTV News at a screening for her concert DVD, "I Am ... World Tour," in New York City.
"I just hope that one day, when I decide to be pregnant that people are happy for me, 'cause I'm like gosh, like, everyone's like, 'Oh god, please! She's been pregnant 100 times.' One day, hopefully, I will be. So whatever; it's a part of being a celebrity, I guess."
Her mom, Tina Knowles, was also at the screening and when asked if she thought that 2011 might be the year we give up gossiping about Bey's pregnancy status, she played it cool. "You have to ask her those personal things," she said. "I don't know!"
But Tina was also the lady to shoot down the baby-bump rumors last month when she sat down with talk-show host Ellen DeGeneres.
"I heard that, but I'm here to clear the rumors up. The truth is it's not Beyoncé that's pregnant, it's me," she joked. "No, it's not true. Not right now. I'm looking forward to it. With all the rumors, by now I should have about five or six grandchildren."

50 Cent and Chelsea Handler and Taylor Swift and Jake Gyllenhaal also made us swoon this year.

Love bloomed in 2010. While some of the year's celebrity hookups made sense, we have to admit that at least one of MTV News' favorite couples of the year kind of had us scratching our heads, even if they do look adorable together. What was the trend for 2010 when it comes to love in the world of entertainment? Musicians love comedians!
Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson
They may refuse to talk about it, but 2010 seemed to confirm long-simmering suspicions that RPattz and KStew had taken their onscreen love affair offscreen, thanks to a number of high-profile sightings over the course of the year. Who could forget when they kissed at the MTV Movie Awards in June and then spent the summer shooting separate flicks, still finding time to hang out together? Pattinson visited Stewart on the set of "On the Road," and the pair flew the friendly skies together. They grabbed a meal together in L.A., which seems to be a very coupley thing to do. The two were also spotted kissing on the beach for a "Breaking Dawn" honeymoon scene.
Katy Perry and Russell Brand
Katy and Russell not only made our list of the best weddings of 2010, but their adorableness also landed them on the Best Couples of 2010 list. They kicked off the new year with their engagement and then quickly became a red carpet staple, hitting up the Grammy parties, goofing around about their relationship, with Perry calling Brand a "bridezilla," and then hyping up each other's projects, with Brand giving props to Perry's "California Gurls." The duo talked each other up throughout much of the year, culminating in their October wedding. And what better way to celebrate their love than with Perry taking Brand's last name?
50 Cent and Chelsea Handler
It all began in October after Handler, who hosted the MTV Video Music Awards in September, and the rapper were spotted hanging out in New Orleans, listening to jazz and getting cozy. Handler quickly denied there was a romance brewing. Shortly after denying there was anything going on, Handler took to her Twitter to once again deny the fling after one of the panelists on her "Chelsea Lately" show referenced their supposed hookup. Fifty also denied a romance, saying the pair were discussing a potential film project. Weeks later, the couple were spotted just chillin' in Malibu. She later stuck to her guns about their relationship, saying they were just talking business. Oh yeah, she also tweeted a photo of them snuggling in bed together. Hey, even if they are just friends, we kind of love them as a couple.
Taylor Swift and Jake Gyllenhaal
It all started in late October when Taylor was spotted hanging out with Jake in New York City. She brushed off romance rumors during a chat with Ellen DeGeneres, and even Jake-associate Anne Hathaway seemed to want to squelch the rumors. But the pair were subsequently spotted all over the globe getting lattes and sharing embraces together. And this month, actress Gwyneth Paltrow admitted she hosted a dinner for the pair in November. Let's hope they can keep it strong in 2011 (or at least hope for an awesome breakup ballad from Taylor).
Sammi and Ronnie
They fell in love during season one of "Jersey Shore," but then broke up on the season's reunion special. So, when they landed in Miami and Ronnie was caught hitting on girls in South Beach, who would have thought they'd end up together again? Not Snooki and JWoww, who tried to his expose his lothario ways. But the heart wants what the heart wants and, well, it seems that the two couldn't resist each other and they eventually got back together. With a new season of "Jersey Shore" set to kick off on January 6, let's hope Sammi and Ronnie warm up the beach a little longer.
