Mandy Moore Steps Out for Virgin Mobile

Looking too cute in Toronto, Mandy Moore launched the new Virgin Love Button app during an event held today (March 15).

The "Candy" singer looked stylish in a black blazer, orange blouse, and black leather pants as she smiled for the cameras at the north of the border press function.

Meanwhile, the 26-year-old brunette has been busy acting in films such as "Tangled," but says she's begun writing her next album and plans to get back into the recording studio within a "couple of weeks."

Mandy will also try her hand at a new kind of movie, as reports say she's been cast in the thriller ghost story "Falling Slowly" - in which she'll be starring opposite Rodrigo Santoro as a couple haunted by a "dark presence."

Ke$ha Breaks Out Her Bikini For a Day at the Beach in Australia!

Ke$ha had a fun afternoon with friends at the beach in Sydney today, splashing around in the water before lounging on the sand doing some stretches. The singer had fun in a black bikini during a break from traveling down under while on her latest tour. Ke$ha last visited the ocean in Australia while visiting the country in November, though then she soaked up the sun in a one-piece. Her next string of dates was scheduled to be in Japan, but it's unknown whether she still plans on doing those shows. Ke$ha did, however, retweet a post from Lea Michele urging fans to donate money to the earthquake- and tsunami-ravaged country. Her stint abroad hasn't slowed down new releases, though, as Ke$ha recently debuted the video for her song "Blow" starring none other than James Van Der Beek.

Courteney Cox: "I Will Have Waves of Pain" If I Divorce David

Courteney Cox: Single and ready to mingle?

Not exactly. Although the Cougar Town star, 46, initiated a trial separation from husband David Arquette last year, she still hasn't made up her mind about divorcing the troubled star.

"I feel like we've been extremely successful at marriage," Cox tells the April issue of Harper's Bazaar of Arquette, 37, who checked out of rehab in January after some very high-profile meltdowns on The Howard Stern Show and elsewhere.

The unlikely couple wed in 1999 and have a daughter, Coco, 6. "If [the marriage] doesn't work out, I will have huge waves of pain about failing in that department," Cox admits.

"But right now I don't have that because I don't know what the future holds and I guess because I have strong feelings for him."

PHOTOS: Other epic star meltdowns

As for Arquette's shockingly frank confessionals on Stern's show about their sex life and other intimate details, "You can't really get mad at David because he's not a malicious person," Cox muses. "He was dealing with things the best way he could."

But she clarifies: "Don't get me wrong, he was on a show for entertainment. David is smart, and David is also a showman. He knew what he was doing."

The Friends alum explains why she asked for a trial split in the first place.

"The thing is, when you get older, it's more about compatibility than it is about love," she says, noting that she needed "a kind of peace and stillness. I'm kind of all over the place, and I need grounding. I want to be calm. I want to change a lot."

"It's nothing with David," she insists. "It's just what I'm searching for."

Her advice to other couples with marital struggles? "[Be] willing to get real and messy," she says. "I think you can only become stronger people, whether it's together or apart. In the end, everything will be better."

One other talked-about detail regarding the famous couple: Arquette's dalliance with another woman (a cocktail waitress) during their separation. "He absolutely did nothing that wasn't in the boundaries of what we set for our separation, so there's nothing to judge," Cox says. "I may not have known about it, but that's the only difference."

Critic's Corner Tuesday: 'V' bows out quietly on ABC

By Robert Bianco, USA TODAY

"In like a lion, out like a lamb" doesn't just apply to March.

Take V (9 ET/PT), which roared onto ABC in 2009 as one of the season's most highly promoted series. Tonight, it quietly slips away with an early seasonal exit ? a victim of creative, marketing and scheduling mistakes that squandered all of its momentum and much of its appeal.

V's remaining fans will, at least, find an episode that's better plotted than last year's amusing but absurd season-ender. Big events do transpire, but if you were hoping they'd add up to a suitable series finale, in case one is needed, you're likely to be disappointed.

Still, the deeper problem with tonight's outing is one shared by the series as a whole: It's all construct and no character.

There's some camp fun to be had from the aliens, but the show's humans are like plastic pieces on a very expensive chessboard ? and while their movements may momentarily hold your interest, they themselves never do. Nothing they say surprises or delights, in the way that so many lines did on Lost and do on Fringe, and everything's said in the same end-of-days drone.

Isis says she also added something about prior relations with "goddess" Bree Olsen ... just for good measure.

Charlie Sheen claims he can't find porn star Capri Anderson to serve her with extortion lawsuit

Charlie Sheen hired a private investigator in January, but has yet to find Capri Anderson.

Charlie Sheen hired a private investigator in January, but has yet to find Capri Anderson.

SANTA MONICA, Calif. - Well, there's one porn star in the country that Charlie Sheen can't find.

The fired "Two and a Half Men" star is complaining he hasn't been able to locate porn-star Capri Anderson to serve her with legal papers.

The over-exposed skin-flick starlet says he must not be looking too hard and can meet her at a Long Island strip club next month.

"I have no idea why Charlie hasn't been able to locate me. No one else has had any problem," Anderson told the Daily News on Monday through her lawyer Keith Davidson.

Sheen, 45, has drawn up a lawsuit against Anderson, claiming she tried to extort him after his October drug-fueled meltdown at the Plaza Hotel.

His lawyer asked a judge for permission to notify Anderson by publishing an announcement instead of serving her in person.

It seems they hired a private investigator to track down Anderson, but the gumshoe couldn't get the job done - even though the X-rated star just made a well-publicized appearance at Scores.

The judge shot down the request, ignoring Team Sheen's complaints that Bronx-raised Anderson uses aliases and moves around a lot.

She said she's hardly hiding, given her many TV and club appearances.

"If he wants to see me, he can come to The Scene (strip club) on Long Island April 15 and 16. I'll be a featured dancer," she said.

In the suit, Sheen alleges Anderson stole his $165,000 Patek Philippe watch during their disastrous date and demanded $1 million for her silence.

"She fabricated a sensational tale about being assaulted, battered and held against her will, and used that fictional story as a basis for an extortion plot," the suit claims.

Anderson contends Sheen choked and threatened to kill her during the rampage, which ended with him in the hospital. No criminal charges were filed.

Selena Gomez: Lovely at the "Late Show"

Having flown into the Big Apple the previous day, Selena Gomez made her grand arrival at the Ed Sullivan Theatre in New York City on Monday afternoon (March 14).

Promoting her new music, the "Wizards of Waverly Place" darling was on-hand to tape an appearance on the "Late Show with David Letterman" - with the episode set to air on Wednesday, March 16th at 11:30PM on CBS.

The "Late Show" visit comes just as it was announced that Miss Gomez has a little something special planned for fans who attend her upcoming summer concert tour.

The 18-year-old told On Air with Ryan Seacrest, "I want it to be a like a big rave - a G-rated rave! I want it to feel like a party. I'm going to do different covers and I just want it to be really fun? We're going to do a Britney tribute - a mash-up - so I'm very excited!"

Reminiscing about her first-ever Spears concert, Selena told, "We were in the nosebleeds with my cousin. I got the T-shirt and glowstick and I just remember it being the highlight of my life! I felt like I was on cloud nine!"

Bright Eyes Revisit and Retire the Sound Academy

You are here: Home » Entertainment » Bright Eyes Revisit and Retire the Sound Academy

A delightfully depressed Conor Oberst and his ensemble executed his sloppy melancholy melodies Sunday night when indie-rockers Bright Eyes performed their victory lap at the Sound Academy.

Mr. Oberst faced an audience of plaid-trimmed boys, aging hipsters and squeamish girls as he put on what is supposedly his final Canadian run under the Bright Eyes alias. The two-hour setlist stumbled through the group?s eighth and reportedly final album the People?s Key, while frequently honouring rarities that date back to his early ?90s releases. Popular classics, by Bright Eyes standards, were featured, including: ?Four Winds?, ?False Adverstising?, ?Old Soul Song?, ?Road to Joy? and ?Lover I Don?t Have To Love?.

Every heartbroken devoted fan transitioned into a congregation of unconsciousness as the evening started with the spoken-word rambles from ?Firewall?, the opening track of the new album. The conceptual mumbo-jumbo comes from Randy Brewer, a Texas musician that Oberst met while on the road. His sermon touches on vague ideas of the road to enlightenment, alien ancestors and something to do with Hitler? Brewer?s thought provoking sentiments reappeared at the end of the set, when Oberst and friends played out to ?One For You, One For Me?.

One moment of brilliance shun when Oberst began hammering out the chords to ?Shell Games?, the latest single and sung out in his famous fragile tones: ?took the fireworks and the vanity, the circuit-board and the city streets? to the choir of the Sound Academy. As he ditched his routine position of an absentee singer-songwriter with guitar in hand, he lurked the crowd and danced in a frantic Thom Yorke-esque spasm, Oberst became a front-man. A few moments like this brought to mind the possibility of Bright Eyes pulling an Arcade Fire and maximizing on mainstream success. Though, that outcome may have set sail after the I?m Wide Awake, It?s Morning / Casadaga gravy train left town in 2006.

Another highlight of the evening was the last song of the main set: ?Lua?. Oberst strapped on his acoustic guitar and melodically traded verses with the tender brass voicing of his long-time collaborator, Mike Mogis. Unfortunately, the crowd didn?t respect the song for what it is, a bittersweet love story, and attempted to sing-along. It was clear that Oberst was somewhat bothered by the response, but is likely familiar to at this point in his career.

Oberst, 31, released his first songs at 13 under the Bright Eyes persona. It began as a lo-fi home-recording project and has become a professional, full-orchestrated band. If one delves into his catalogue, the songs range from folk-rock to electronic to 1960s soul to plush soft-rock. More recent albums, including the People?s Key have leaned toward spirituality and he continues to channel Bob Dylan-esque mysticism.

While it was far from the perfect show is testament to the potential end of something special, Bright Eyes. The merch venders stock ran out of T-Shirts and Oberst?s passion for his music was ever so undeniable. Pitchy vocals and sloppy instrumentals aside, everyone seemed satisfied. Oberst?s next move should be interesting.
