Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard: Possibly Married!

Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard get married at some point? We haven't heard about it, but the Parenthood star was referred to as her husband last night.

Bell Tweeted the following with a photo of Dax: "My adorable husband, @daxshepard1 voting 4 his favorite american idol. Over and over again."

Husband or fiance, here's Shepard doing just that. You don't call someone that if you're not really married, right? Well, besides on Grey's Anatomy?

We'd have to guess not. So, congratulations to them both, maybe! In other news, Dax is apparently a card-carrying member of Team Pia Toscano:

dax votes

Not only is Dax moved by Pia's rendition of "All in Love is Fair," American Idol's move to Wednesday-Thursday helps Parenthood's chances of survival. Win-win!

Whoopi: I Smoked WEED Before My Oscar Speech!

Whoopi Goldberg smoked a BIG, FAT JOINT before she won her Oscar in 1991 -- and was stoned off her ass during the victory speech ... so said the actress herself in never-before-seen footage obtained by TMZ.

0323_video_large_whoopi

An unabashed Whoopi dropped the bombshell during a voice-over recording session for the movie, "The Pagemaster" back in 1992.

Whoopi explained how she smoked a "wonderful joint" to help calm her nerves before winning the Best Supporting Actress award for "Ghost" ... and was so high during the award show, she had to mentally coach herself on to the stage.

0323_video_whoopi_smallAfter the Oscars, Goldberg says she got a call from her mother -- who could tell Whoopi had smoked weed because of her "glistening eyes."

Whoopi noted, "Just because I do it doesn't mean you should do it."

Check out Whoopi's speech -- can you tell she was baked?

Aretha Franklin has big plans for her 69th birthday

Aretha Franklin speaks after she was inducted into the Apollo Legends Hall of Fame at the 2010 Apollo Theater Spring Benefit Concert & Awards Ceremony at The Apollo Theater on June 14, 2010 in New York

Aretha Franklin knows how to celebrate! The Queen of Soul will ring in her 69th birthday Friday right here in NYC, and she's got big plans. Not that we're surprised - how could a Do-Right Woman do a party wrong?

Franklin will start her evening at "Driving Miss Daisy," the Broadway revival at the Golden Theatre starring Vanessa Redgrave and James Earl Jones. She'll see the show with a group of nine friends. According to a source, Franklin made the phone call herself when buying the 10 tickets, which we hear is typical behavior for the apparently un-diva-like songstress. (Mariah Carey and Jennifer Lopez, take note.)

The combination of theater and James Earl Jones has become a bit of a birthday tradition for Franklin. To celebrate her 66th, she took in Tennessee Willliams' "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof," in which Jones appeared  with Terrence Howard and Phylicia Rashad.

She also saw the actor in the show "On Golden Pond" in 2005.

This production of "Daisy," however, knows a thing or two about birthday festivities. As Gatecrasher reported in January, the cast celebrated Jones' own 80th with two cakes onstage after the performance ? one sugar-free, since he's diabetic.

After the show, Franklin will proceed to her own party. And while she may not be blowing out candles in front of an audience, she should still save room for cake.

One bit of speculation around town is that Franklin's birthday dessert will be provided by famed Harlem soul-food restaurant Sylvia's.

Maybe the staff at the Lenox Ave. destination is extremely good at keeping a secret or maybe those plans have changed. When we called Sylvia's to inquire about the eatery's involvement, a rep there claimed to know of no plans to feed Franklin.

Perhaps the Queen of Soul is taking special care in putting together the menu for her fete, considering her recent dramatic loss of 85 pounds.

Franklin has attributed the downsizing of her figure to diet and healthy living rather than a rumored gastric-bypass surgery.

As for location, a spy tells us she was spotted Tuesday at the Helmsley Park Lane, which supports previous reports that the Central Park South hotel would be the site of her star-studded birthday bash.

The insider adds that 100 of Aretha's nearest and dearest friends are expected to attend the celebration, where a live band will entertain the crowd. It's unclear whether Aretha plans to perform at her own party, but we hope there's some serious talent on hand: Imagine civilians butchering "Happy Birthday" for the Queen.

Katie Price: My marriage to Peter Andre was all about cameras and photo shoots

Katie Price ? aka Jordan ? questions her relationship with Peter Andre

Katie Price has vowed to keep her kids out of the limelight from now on

Katie Price says she doesn't regret her relationship with Peter Andre but wishes it had been less in the public eye.

The pair married in September 2005 and starred in a number of reality TV programmes and magazine spreads with their children Junior, 5, and Princess, 3.

'At the time I was with different management and my whole situation was about photo shoots and filming,' says Katie, 32.

'Now I'm out of that bubble I look back and think: "Oh my God, was it really a real relationship in the end?"

'It was just all cameras, photo shoots, and when I look back I don't regret everything but it's wrong to have a relationship based on TV shows and magazines.'

Katie and Peter, 38, divorced in September 2009 but she soon moved on and married cage fighter Alex Reid.

Since that relationship broke down in January, the glamour girl's been snapped on numerous dates with Argentinian model Leandro Penna, 25.

'Nothing's private is it?' Katie told This Morning's Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.

'I can't do anything private, people speculate what they want.

'I can't win either way.'

Color-coded Army chow lines promote better health

By Georgina Gustin, St. Louis Post-Dispatch

FORT LEONARD WOOD, Mo. - Pvt. Ivan Esparza remembers walking into the cafeteria on the first day of basic training, hungry for his inaugural military chow. A drill sergeant paced around his table, peering over his shoulder and barking orders.

Then, between anxious mouthfuls, Esparza noticed an officer's hat hanging on the handle of a glass cabinet displaying desserts. The message was clear: no cake.

"It was pretty crazy," Esparza, 18, remembers. "They put the hat there because they know you won't touch it."

The hat served as an implied order, telling Esparza and his fellow trainees to watch their calories. Now, several months after Esparza arrived, the army has adopted a more direct approach to shaping the diets of its charges.

For the past two months, a color-coded system posted in each of Fort Leonard Wood's dining facilities, or "D-Facs," has guided soldiers and trainees to healthier food choices. The goal, army officials say, is to produce healthier, slimmer, less injury-prone soldiers.

"We discovered that when we're getting these young people, a lot of them have never had any kind of physical activity, They've been sitting on couches playing Xbox," said Jeff Maddy, chief of public information at Fort Leonard Wood. "Parents aren't teaching these kids how to eat, how to read labels."

For the military and for taxpayers, this has led to some costly problems. The army spends roughly $65,000 to train a soldier. But a soldier

who gets injured costs a lot more. A stress fracture in the hip, for example, might cost $300,000 to rehabilitate and might mean the person will never serve.

Over the past decade or so, the number of injuries sustained by basic training recruits has climbed. While there are no army-wide figures, a snapshot of injuries at Fort Jackson, in South Carolina, underscores the problem. In 2000 recruits sustained 30 hip stress fractures.

By 2009, the number had shot up to 135.

"They come here and we're hurting them," Maddy said. "We break it, we buy it."

So the army has rolled out a new "soldier athlete" initiative that includes the color-coded nutrition guidance. Red means less-than-optimal, yellow means slightly better, while green means optimal, with high-protein and low calories.

"The drill sergeants are not nutritionists," said Maj. Victor Baez-An, the executive officer of the 787th Military Police Battalion. "But with these colors they can say, `You've got too much red on your plate'."

The army has also incorporated more physical therapy and fitness training into the soldier athlete effort, and starting this month, will extend the program to all five of the army's basic training installations.

"This is where we have absolute control over these young people," Baez-An said. "We hope they leave here with the skills to make better choices."

For the first three weeks of basic training, drill sergeants closely monitor the recruits as they eat, hovering over them in the D-Fac.

"There's no soda, no caffeine. Fruits and vegetables have replaced heavy fats. You have to try very hard to not eat healthy," said Ian Wagoner, commander of the 787th's Echo Company, sitting in the D-Fac recently.

But when the trainees get their first pass to go off the base, they often revert to bad habits - and pay for their indulgences. Then the rigors of basic training teach their own lesson.

"On Sundays, my soldiers go on pass, and they can go eat cheeseburgers at Burger King," Baez-An said. "Then on Monday, they come back and go on a six-mile run. The next Sunday, they don't eat a cheeseburger."

Still, the military puts some temptation in their soldiers' paths. Fast-food restaurants operate on military bases here and abroad. When anyone enters the grounds of Fort Leonard Wood, for example, they pass through the checkpoint and drive a few hundred yards before two restaurants come into view: Burger King and Church's Fried Chicken. The army says these restaurants are essential for making soldiers feel at home.

"Things like that affect recruiting," Baez-An noted.

So, as the army works to revamp the eating habits of its recruits, it has to strike a balance, one that young soldiers like Pvt. Esparza are working on, too.

"I don't eat bread anymore," he said. "I try to eat a salad with every meal."

When Esparza graduates, he'll head home to Indiana, then to a base in Germany.

The first thing he'll eat, he says, is some Chinese food.

His unit mates have their gastronomic wish lists, too.

Spc. Neftali Lizarraga says he's cut out soda and cakes. But when he goes home to San Diego, he'll head straight for a local taco joint for a special burrito. "It's got carne asada, french fries, sour cream and guacamole in it," he said. "It's one of the best things I've ever had."

When Baez-An hears about this less-than-healthy sounding choice, he smiles. "He might have that burrito," he says. "But he'll only have one."

Elizabeth Taylor Suffered 'a Lot of Pain' in Final Days, says Debbie Reynolds

Just two weeks before her death, a hospitalized Elizabeth Taylor spoke to her one-time rival Debbie Reynolds.

"I said, 'Getting old is really sh??,' " Reynolds tells Access Hollywood of her final conversation with Taylor. "And she said, 'It certainly is. It certainly is, Debbie. This is really tough.' "

"I said, 'Well, you just hang in there now, Elizabeth,' " Reynolds recalls. "And she said, 'I'm really trying."

"God bless her, she's on to a better place," Reynolds says. "I'm happy that she's out of her pain because she was in a lot of pain."

As for her legacy, Reynolds reflected on Taylor's "long productive career," in a statement earlier Wednesday. "She was the most glamorous and sexual star of our generation," Reynolds, 78, said in the statement. "No one else could equal Elizabeth's beauty and sexuality. Women liked her and men adored her, and her love for her children is enduring."

Added Reynolds: "She was a symbol of stardom. Her legacy will last."

Though they were friends at the time of Taylor's death, during the late '50s, Reynolds and Taylor were caught in the biggest sex scandal of the decade.

Reynolds, the star of Singin' in the Rain and other MGM musicals, was America's Sweetheart and the mother of two children with her husband, boy-next-door crooner Eddie Fisher ? who in 1957 was stolen away from his wife and children by the recently widowed Taylor.

Lady Gaga's Tattoo "Half-Normalcy"

She?s always had her own way of doing things, and Lady Gaga recently revealed that all of her tattoos are on the left side of her body.

The ?Born This Way? singer attended a Google Moderator promotional event on Tuesday (March 22) and told attendees that all of her inkings are on the left side to keep her ?half-ordinary.?

?It was actually per my father's request," she said. "He asked that I remain, on one side, slightly normal,? Gaga continued.

Also dishing about what it?s like backstage before one of her shows, Gaga told, "There's a lot of backstage shenanigans. Very often they make jokes about my diet because they know I have to stay fit for videos, so they'll leave mounds of cheeseburgers and stuff in my dressing room. It's vicious."
